Welcome to the wonderful world of LabVIEW and hardware!

To create an exact copy of the installation diskette,
please type (at a DOS Prompt):

PKUNZIP LVSTUDNT.ZIP X: <enter>
-Where X is the drive letter for your floppy drive.
-A minimum of 1.44 MB floppy is required.

To install the LabVIEW Student Edition DAQ and GPIB drivers,
run SETUP.EXE from the File Manager. Follow the instructions
given in the dialog boxes. You are asked if you want to
install NI-DAQ driver software, NI-GPIB software (and if so,
for which board), the desired installation location (which
should be your LVSE directory), and whether to back up or
overwrite older driver files if you have any existing on your
computer. The driver files are then installed in the proper
locations, as listed below:

WINDOWS directory: GPIB.INI
WINDOWS\SYSTEM diretory: NIDAQ.DLL, NIVISRD.386, GPIB.DLL
LVSE directory: WIBCONF.EXE, WIBCONF.PIF,
(or other designated) WDAQCONF.EXE, WDAQCONF.HLP

The driver installation disk also installs INSTRUCT.LLB into
the designated directory. INSTRUCT.LLB contains files
described in Chapter 5, Additional Exercises, of the LabVIEW
Instructor's Guide.

If you do not install INSTRUCT.LLB into the same directory as
the LabVIEW Student Edition and you try to run REMAINDER.VI,
the computer will ask you to find a VI called FLOOR.VI.
FLOOR.VI is located in EXAMPLES->APPS->TEMPSYS.LLB if you have
the student edition. If you have the professional version,
you probably don't have FLOOR.VI; you should use the "Quotient
& Remainder" function in the "Arithmetic" palette of the
"Functions" menu instead of REMAINDER.VI. The professional
version can also use FLOOR.VI from the student edition
examples, if you have them.

For data acquisition, the LabVIEW Student Edition works with
the National Instruments Lab-NB, Lab-LC, NB-DIO-24, and all
NB-MIO boards on the Macintosh. It also works with the
Lab-PC, Lab-PC+, PC-LPM-16, PC-DIO-24, DAQCard-700,
DAQPad-1200, and all AT-MIO boards on ISA computers running
Windows.

For GPIB, the student edition works with National Instruments
AT-GIB, GPIB-PCII/IIA, PCMCIA-GPIB, and NB-GPIB Boards.
